the story

Born in Assam, India, Niko’s journey into sound began with classical piano training at four, later expanding into guitar, live sound engineering, and event production. While earning his BA in Business Economics from the University of Delhi (2019), he immersed himself in the independent music scene, working in stage management, artist coordination, live sound, merchandising, and festival operations. During this time, he also co-founded Meraki (2018), a rooftop music and arts initiative, and led media management for Arunodoi: Connecting Northeast, a youth conclave fostering cultural dialogue.

His passion for sound led him to pursue an MA in Audio Production from the University of Westminster (2022), where he focused on accessibility in live performance venues and audience engagement strategies. This experience strengthened his expertise in audio mixing, sound design, cultural programming, and production planning, deepening his understanding of the intersections between sound, arts policy, and creative industries research.

Niko has since worked extensively across live events, theatre, and broadcast, engineering for Charming Liars' UK Tour (2024), Hoxton Hall, Butlin’s, and Riverside Radio. His live sound credits include working with Heaven 17, BLUE, Scouting for Girls, Chesney Hawkes, Vengaboys, and Liberty X, while his theatre and cultural production experience includes roles at Pop Up Projects CIC and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), where he supported major performances, masterclasses, and festivals.

Beyond technical expertise, Niko is deeply invested in cultural accessibility, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the evolving role of sound in storytelling. His background in arts administration, event programming, and audience development allows him to bridge creative and operational elements, making him a valuable asset in sound design, event management, and cultural policy development.
